Sunday Territorian

ARTIST Christopher May will use any excuse to get back to the Territory … even drawing the skeleton of a barramundi.
May, a former Territorian now regarded as one of Australia 's finest artists. Is in Darwin to complete the drawing at the Museum and Art Gallery of the NT. Finished, it will be worth at least $10,000.
Mr May, 40, who lives at Hervey Bay in Queensland , still draws entirely with coloured pencils.
Despite his successful barramundi drawings, he said the sports fish had eluded him on many fishing expeditions.
“But I hope that will change as a friend of mine has guaranteed we will catch one in the harbour this visit,” Mr May said.
